It has always been an honor and pleasure for
me to serve the College. It began in 1990 as I was asked to participate
in several Singer Showcases, Student Convocations and Commencement
Concerts. Some of the other highlights were the Write of Spring
Faculty Concert, the Buddy Rich Ensemble Concerts, the Jazz Fusion
Composers Concert, the Performance Outreach Program and various
clinics and recitals including a Master's Recital. Representing
the College in front of the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Billy Joel and
many others, was a great thrill for me.
It was also a privilege to be asked by Berklee
to perform with drummer extraordinaire, Peter Erskine at the Berklee
Performance Center. I was flattered to be chosen by Rob Rose for
this event because I was highly influenced by Mr. Erskine as a musician
especially during his time with the legendary fusion group "Weather
Report". It was also very exciting being asked by the College
to perform at the Boston Music Awards with Terry Lynn Carrington
and Layla Hathaway at the Orpheum Theater as we performed original
material representing Berklee among the most recognized musicians
and music groups of Boston. The most memorable service I did was
a one-week Russian tour as we represented Berklee in the great cities
of Moscow, Nishny Novgorod and St. Petersburg with the Latin Jazz
Group, Wayne Naus' "Heart and Fire".
As an Assistant Professor it has been great participating
in various events in service to the College. Here are some of them:
